This art technique is supposed to have been passed down from the Neolithic period. This craft is distinguished by the fact that it is created without the use of a potter’s wheel. It is formed of crushed Serpentinite and Weathered rocks (from the Longpi region), which are pulverised and combined with water in a wooden and bamboo pot to make clay. The clay is formed into these artful pieces before being fired in a kiln at 900 degrees Celsius.
